I still don’t know if the battery is covered by the dealer’s warranty, but I didn’t have the luxury of taking the Odyssey to my Honda dealer to find out.
When you have to change out your Odyssey’s battery, here is what you need to know:
1) Because the van engine is compact, it’s a little harder than switching out the battery on an Accord. In fact the battery is hidden underneath the air intake, which means you are going to have remove it to access the battery (see photo).
2) It’s faster and easier to have someone at the auto parts store do this for you. Most auto parts stores will install the battery at no charge. Ask for this service before you purchase the battery.
3) Unlike other Honda models you do not need a code to reset your radio, but it will not reset by itself (see photo below). Your mini van’s radio will not work after the battery has been replaced until you hold down the power button for five seconds.
